Easy Pool Maintenance Tips You Can Do on Your Own

pool maintenance tips to always keep your pool clean

If you’re lucky enough to have a swimming pool in your backyard, it only makes sense that you keep it clean and well maintained. That way, you can use your pool as often as you want. Here are a few pool maintenance tips to always keep your pool clean:

  1. Keep your water level constant

Ensure that the water level is not too high nor too low. It should be at the appropriate center level of your pool tile or pool skimmer for optimal results.

If it’s too high, the skimmer door won’t work; if it’s too low, the pump may run dry and eventually malfunction.

  1. Clean the skimmer basket more often

The skimmer basically skims the pool’s surface before contaminants and debris become saturated. The more effective your skimmer is, the easier pool maintenance will be.

3.Keep Your Ozonator On Regularly

Also, make sure it’s working as intended. UV, Ozone or a mix of both can cut back on the amount of chlorine your pool utilizes.

There’s a wide variety of Ozonators, and most of them have various uses and installation instructions.

4.Control Your Pool’s pH

When you keep your pool’s pH level between 7.2 and 7.8, your pool will use little chlorine. The less chemical you add to your pool, the safer it is to swim in.

Regular pool maintenance goes a long way in cutting back on your swimming pool’s lifecycle cost.  You’d also be minimizing the need to make emergency stops to the pool store for additives such as chemicals.
