7 Ways to Make More Space in Your Kitchen Cabinets

7 Ways to Make More Space in Your Kitchen Cabinets

Unfortunately, a kitchen remodel doesn’t necessarily mean a bigger kitchen. If you struggle with storage in your kitchen cabinets, here are a few space saving tips you might want to try.

  1. Install a kitchen island – Islands make a great addition to kitchens because they are a relatively inexpensive solution to a lack of countertop and kitchen cabinet space. Plus, they don’t have to be stationary, so you won’t need to worry about it getting in your way.
  2. Hang your pots and pans – Pots and pans do not always stack well and can take up a lot of space in your kitchen cabinets. Try hanging them on the wall or use a decorative ceiling hanging instead.
  3. Hang your mugs – The handles on mugs make them take up more space in your kitchen cabinets, but also make them perfect for hanging.
  4. Look into various spice rack options – Install a custom space-saving spice rack on one of your walls or, you could look into countertop spice rack options. Either way, both of these options can keep spices out of your precious cabinet space.
  5. Extend upward – During your kitchen renovation, consider having your kitchen cabinets extended all the way up to the ceiling if they aren’t already. In some kitchens, this can add several inches to the amount of cabinet space you have.
  6. Use baskets or trays – These can be used to store things on top of your countertops, instead of in them.
  7. Install corner drawers in place of a cupboard – This will allow you to fully utilize all of that corner space without making things hard to find or reach.

These are a few simple tips you can follow if you want to get more space out of your kitchen cabinets.
