1. No Spare Key: A hidden spare key could be found by someone if they spent enough time looking for it. While the convenience of it may be high, the security costs could also be high.
2. New Locks: Switching out your locks is something simple that you will probably not notice. New, tougher locks can make your home more secure simply by being tougher to break through or more difficult to pick. Consider installing new locks if yours are not up to modern security standards.
3. Looking Lived-In: Making your house look like no one lives there to avert attention may actually attract the bad attention you were avoiding. Make sure to turn on outside lights that make your house look like it is lived in, or better yet install automatic lights so your home will always look lived in without looking suspicious.
